In Flames is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, formed in 1990. Since the band's inception in 1993, they have released ten studio albums and one live DVD. As of 2008, In Flames has sold over 3 million records worldwide.

Sounds of a Playground Fading is the tenth studio album by the Swedish heavy metal band In Flames, released on June 15, 2011 through Century Media/Razzia. This is the first album recorded by In Flames without founding guitarist Jesper Strömblad, who left the band in February 2010.
